Luggage on an Abu Dhabi Layover: Checked Through, Carried or Stored

The second-most-asked pre-booking question after visas. Three scenarios cover everyone.

Luggage on an Abu Dhabi Layover: Checked Through, Carried or Stored

Scenario 1: bags checked to your final destination

Walk out with hand luggage only. Confirm at your origin airport that bags are tagged through; on one-ticket itineraries with major carriers this is standard.

Scenario 2: you must collect and re-check

Common on separate tickets. Collect at the belt, then either bring everything on tour (it rides locked in our vehicle — the normal choice) or use the airport's left-luggage service. We time the return around your re-check window.

Scenario 3: hand luggage only

Nothing to think about — though remember the 100ml liquid rule for anything you buy in the city. Full detail in the shopping guide.

🧳 On tour, bags never leave the vehicle unattended-in-public: locked in the Previa/Hiace at every stop. Thousands of layover tours run this way for exactly this reason.
