We do not take full payment in advance
Most tour companies ask for the whole amount when you book. We do not, because a layover booking depends on a flight you have not taken yet. If you paid in full and your connection changed, you would be chasing a refund from another country. So the structure is:
- Step 1: Confirm with a USD 25 depositPaid by secure card link sent on WhatsApp or email. This holds a vehicle and driver for your arrival time.
- Step 2: Land and meet your driverAt Starbucks in the arrivals hall or Exit 4, parking row 4. Your driver holds a name board.
- Step 3: Pay the balanceIn the vehicle, by cash or card, in AED or USD. Only now, once you can see the driver, the vehicle and the plan for your layover.
The one exception: tickets that must be bought in advance
A small number of attractions sell timed entry tickets that cannot be bought on the day. If your custom itinerary includes one, we tell you the exact ticket cost before anything is charged. You are welcome to verify our licence with the Department of Culture and Tourism Abu Dhabi first, and to ask us to send the ticket confirmation in your name once purchased. The Grand Mosque, the Corniche and the standard tours on this site need no advance tickets at all.
Three ways to verify us before you pay
- Licence. Abu Dhabi Layover Tours is the trading name of Desert Excursion Abu Dhabi LLC, licensed as a tour operator by the Department of Culture and Tourism Abu Dhabi. Our office is at Office 208, Falcon Tower, Hamdan Street, Abu Dhabi.
- Reviews. Our Google reviews are written by guests after their layover. Several describe the deposit and balance arrangement in their own words, and many name the driver or guide who met them: Muneer, Ayoob, Mujeeb, Yusaf and Salam among them. Reviews with photographs of the mosque and the desert are from real tours.
- Talk to a person. WhatsApp or call +971 58 234 4176 at any hour. Send your flight number and we confirm whether the tour fits your layover before you are asked for a deposit.

Why a deposit at all?
Because a driver and vehicle are taken off the roster for your arrival window. Without a deposit we would have no way to tell a firm booking from an enquiry, and guests who did turn up would risk finding no car. USD 25 is small enough to be an easy decision and large enough to make the booking real on both sides.
